Location: Summerfields is set in a 100 acres’ macadamia farm, a few kilometres west of Hazyview and just 10 minutes’ drive to the Kruger’s Phabeni Gate.
Rooms: 12 tented suites on the Sabie River under a canopy of jackalberry and tambotie trees. Amenities include air conditioning, fridge and tea & coffee making facilities.
Facilities: Restaurant, library, bar, spa. Breakfast & lunch are served in the River Café, where there is also a lounge and library area with views over the Sabie River, whilst dinner is served at The Summerfields Kitchen.
Activities: Horse riding, zipline, quad biking, helicopter flights, archery, kayaking, golf, cruises, white water rafting, mountain biking, hiking.
Children: No children under 12 in double and twin suites.
Our Opinion: Summerfields Rose Retreat & Spa is a place of tranquility, an ideal retreat for a romantic getaway. The family grows the Summerfields cut roses, as well as the organic vegetables which are used in the home-cooked meals.
