Location: Awasi in Atacama is a Relais & Chateaux property located in the oasis town of San Pedro de Atacama.

Facilities: Restaurant, bar, swimming pool.

Activities: Outdoor pool, poolside bar, hiking, concierge.

Children: Children 10 years and over are welcome.

Our Opinion: The key to Awasi’s success is that it is small, exclusive and beautifully run. All clients have private vehicles and guiding and it offers the most exclusive experience in the Atacama. It is one of the more expensive lodges, but it is small, charming and well worth the money.

"Many thanks indeed. Fab holiday! Everything went incredibly smoothly, and all the staff/drivers etc charming and all our connections etc went smoothly. Highlights included white water rafting, zip wires, releasing new-born turtles into the sea, being in a boat amongst 200 dolphins, riding on beaches... Children and parents ticked off many from our “must do things in our lives” list. In terms of lodges, would rank Pacuare and Lapa Rios equal first.
