Entebbe, Jinja & Kampala

Entebbe is the arrival point for most travellers to Uganda and is a charming town on the shores of Lake Victoria. Kampala is the bustling capital city of Uganda set over seven hills and home to some important cultural and historical sites, whilst Jinjalies near the point where the mighty Nile flows out of Lake Victoria, and has become the self-proclaimed adventure capital of East Africa.

Entebbe is situated close to the international airport, on the shores of Lake Victoria, and makes a good starting point for acclimatising to Uganda. You can spend time bird watching in the colourfulBotanical Gardens, visit the UgandaWildlife Education Centre, search for the rare shoebill stork in the nearby Mabamaba Wetlands or enjoy a sundowner overlooking the lake.

Thetown of Jinjaoverlooks the waters of Lake Victoria, nearby the point where the River Nile flows out of the lake. As well as visiting the source of the Nile, Jinja is also the base for adrenalin activities such as white water rafting, quad biking, horse riding and bungee jumping.

Kampala is Uganda’sbustling capital city built over seven hills and boasts atmospheric markets and some of the country’s most important cultural & historical sites. The Kasubi Tombs are the resting place for four Bagandakabakas or kings, whilst the impressive Namirembe Cathedral is the largest in East Africa and offers superb views over the city.
