Our Opinion: Perched on a cliff between two beach coves, Birkenhead House is a stylish and chic hotel close to one of the best locations for whale watching off the coast of southern Africa. Named after a British ship that sank in Walker Bay in 1852, the hotel has a relaxed atmosphere where you can breakfast at noon, take tea on your balcony, then watch the ocean at dusk over a cocktail or two.
