Here the golden age of train travel is brought back to life as you enjoy delicious food, wonderful service and luxurious cabins whilst winding your way through the mountains, forest and paddy fields of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Laos.
The principal routing, throughout the year, is a 2 night journey from Singapore to Bangkok that takes you north-east from Singapore crossing into Malaysia across the straits of Johor. You continue to Kuala Lumpur, Georgetown, the River Kwai and finish in Bangkok. Alternatively the return journey is a 3 night trip from Bangkok back to Singapore. Additional departures go to Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand or Vientiane in Laos.
Whether you want to watch the world go by from the open air Observation Car, listen to the resident pianist as you enjoy a pre-dinner aperitif or merely relax in the comfort of your own cabin, the Eastern Oriental is a fabulous way to enjoy some of the splendours of South East Asia.
