Location: In a private reserve on the edge of the Corcovado National Park.

Rooms: 14 bungalows and suites.

Facilities: Restaurant, bar, lounge area, gift shop, 2 swimming pools.

Activities: Hiking in Corcovado National Park, bird watching, horse riding, Cano Island snorkelling, scuba diving, sport fishing, sea kayaking and mangrove tours.

Children: Children are welcome.

Our Opinion: This lodge is in a 170 acre private reserve, bordering Corcovado National Park, and is the closest accommodation to the park. It is surrounded by rainforest with wonderful wildlife viewing. Access is by boat only. Nice 4 star accommodation, definitely one of our preferred lodges in the Osa Peninsula.

Highlights included white water rafting, zip wires, releasing new-born turtles into the sea, being in a boat amongst 200 dolphins, riding on beaches... Children and parents ticked off many from our “must do things in our lives” list. In terms of lodges, would rank Pacuare and Lapa Rios equal first.
