Location: Karanambu Lodge is located on a remote 100 square mile former cattle ranch in the wetlands & savannah of the north Rupununi.
Rooms: 6 simple cabins.
Facilities: Restaurant.
Activities: Birdwatching, exploring the nearby river and savannahs for the huge variety of widlife including Giant River otters, Giant anteater; walking trails, fishing, visits to the local Amerindian villages of Yupukari and Kwaimatta.
Children: Children are welcome.
Our Opinion: Guests stay in private clay brick cabins thatched with palms. Each cabin has its own bathroom but facilities here are simple and rudimentary, but comfortable with a hammock to relax in on the verandah and electricity provided by solar power. However a visit here is all about the wildlife which is fantastic and the cultural interaction with the local Amerindian communities.
