Our Opinion: Hotel de Lencois is located near Lencois’s main square and offers 50 rooms, in a blend of traditional colonial and modern style. The rooms have air-conditioning, private bathrooms and some offer a balcony overlooking the garden, The on-site restaurant has a wine cellar and offers both local and international cuisine. The hotel also accepts pets on request.

Highlights included white water rafting, zip wires, releasing new-born turtles into the sea, being in a boat amongst 200 dolphins, riding on beaches... Children and parents ticked off many from our “must do things in our lives” list. In terms of lodges, would rank Pacuare and Lapa Rios equal first.
