Location: On a remote peninsula about half an hour’s 4×4 drive from the harbour town of Walvis Bay. The lodge is built on a large sandbank and is bordered on one side by the lagoon and on the other by the Atlantic Ocean – a truly remote and spectacular location.
Rooms: 10 suites: the 9 spacious luxury suites have a lounge area a private deck to enjoy the amazing views of the lagoon, whilst the Captain’s Cove suite is on top of the building and offers panoramic 360 degrees’ views.
Facilities: The lounge & dining room allow the opportunity to enjoy a drink or fine dining while admiring the remarkable vistas. The large outside deck area offers views over the bay and the dunes of the Namib Desert and is the perfect place to watch the sunset.
Activities: Guided wildlife walks (in search of seals, jackals, flamingoes, pelicans, cormorants, terns and many more birds), sundowners at the tip of the Peninsula, guided 4×4 drives, exploring the shipwreck within walking distance of the lodge.
Children: Children of all ages are welcome.
Our Opinion: An unique and remarkable lodge which offers a fantastic insight into the wildlife and geography of the remote south west coast of Africa. Pelican Point has housed a beacon to safely guide ships into Walvis Bay harbour since 1915.
