Location: The lodge is perched high on a ridge with stunning views of the Virunga Volcanoes and the Musanze valley to the west and Lake Bulera and Ruhondo to the east.
Rooms: Each of the 10 luxurious bandas has a private terrace overlooking the dramatic landscape of mountains and lakes. Every banda has an individual fire place and en suite bathroom with a double vanity.
Facilities: Restaurant, bar, lounge, complimentary massage, laundry & boot cleaning service.
Activities: Gorilla tracking, Golden Monkey tracking, hiking to Dian Fossey’s grave, Karisimbi or Visoke Volcanoes, visits to Lake Kivu and Gisenyi.

Our Opinion: Volcanoes’ Virunga Lodge boasts magnificent views over the surrounding mountains and countryside, and is a superb base for gorilla treks in the Prac National des Volcans.
