Our Opinion: A majestic colonial five-storey building has been superbly transformed into one of most atmospheric boutique hotels in Yangon. Retaining its original 19th century colonial atmosphere with high ceilings, parquet floors and marble, the hotel is nevertheless good value. Excelsior has a fantastic downtown location for walking out of the door and being plunged into Yangon’s vibrant street life and markets, historic buildings and art galleries. No swimming pool.
