Countries around the world are starting to take tentative steps towards opening up their borders to international travellers and we are aware that many of our regular clients are keen to start visiting their favourite haunts or indeed explore new, exciting destinations that they have been keen to visit for a while. However we are very aware that confidence in overseas travel has been knocked and we are therefore extremely keen to offer everyone reassurance that World Odyssey is doing everything it possibly can to ensure we guide clients through the booking process in a Covid world and ultimately ensure that holidays are safer than ever before.

It is important to note that although some countries are starting to open their borders for international visitors, the UK’s Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) still has a Travel Advisory in place for most countries throughout Africa, Latin America, Asia, The Middle East and the Indian Ocean which means that travel is still restricted and insurance policies can be invalidated. Flexible Payment Terms

We are very aware that the issue of cancellations and particularly refunds has been a hot potato in the press over the last few months, but we are proud of the way in which we have arranged refunds for those clients who have requested them.

And to ensure that clients have complete confidence to book holidays in the future, World Odyssey is offering the most flexible booking and payment terms and as every holiday is tailored-made and unique, we will negotiate these with our long term partners on your behalf to suit your specific holiday.

These can range between either smaller or the later payment of deposits and ensuring these are refundable up to a specific date and also allowing for the final payment to be at a later date than normal.


Having a valid insurance policy when travelling overseas has always been an essential part of the travel experience in order to give complete peace of mind should the unexpected happen. The Covid-19 pandemic has made this more important than ever and there are now some travel insurance companies that offer cover for coronavirus-related claims. The pandemic has inevitably affected all our partners and they are all extremely keen to ensure that it is safe for all our clients to travel and visit these incredible destinations once again. Therefore our partners and their staff have spent a huge amount of time and effort over the last few months enacting strict new procedures and protocols to reduce the risk of transmission with an enhanced focus on health and hygiene as well as carefully managed physical distancing whether that be in vehicles, guestrooms and common areas of lodges or when out visiting key public sites and places of interest. This in turn can lead to an even more enjoyable experience when our guides are able to get you away from the crowds and create an even more personal and private experience.

Prior to departure, World Odyssey will ensure you are fully prepared and up to date with whatever measures are required when passing through airports (see some links below for the last news at a variety of airports), airline protocols when you are in the air and of course what to expect when actually in the country you’re visiting. We are all slowly getting used to the wearing of masks and this is now being ‘the norm’ in many places and these will no doubt be a feature of our lives for a while yet, so the only real changes you are likely to encounter when overseas are more vigorous cleaning in vehicles for example between game drives on safari or social distancing when in restaurants and airports.
