Location: Hidden away in a quiet grove of wild olive and croton trees, just to the north of the Masai Mara National Reserve in the Koiyaki Lemek region, an area renowned for its excellent game viewing.
Rooms: There are just 8 large Selous walk-in tents, which are all well equipped with comfortable beds with fine linen and en suite bathroom facilities to the rear, which consist of a dressing area, traditional safari ‘bucket’ showers and flush toilet. Each tent is equipped with solar power and also has a small verandah with director’s chairs where you can sit out in the sun and relax and enjoy the stunning views and sounds of the bush.
Facilities: Dining tent, lounge with library, en suite bathrooms with hot water and 24 hours’ solar power. The food is excellent and weather permitting, most meals are taken al fresco beneath the shade of an olive tree with the occasional bush breakfast or dinner.
Activities: Guided walks, fly camping, game drives in custom 4×4 vehicles, watching wildlife at close range.
Children: Children of all ages are welcome.
Our Opinion: This is a luxury bush camp with an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. The camp is semi-permanent and built in a traditional style reminiscent of typical East African mobile camping safaris of a bygone era. In between game drives & bush walks you can enjoy a quiet read in the Nyati tent which has a wide selection of books or perhaps you might prefer to doze off in a hammock to the gentle sounds of the bush.
