Location: The luxury lodge is situated on the banks of one of the largest lakes of the exclusive 63,000 hectare Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, which forms part of the greater Kruger National Park.
Rooms: 10 suites and 1 private house. The suites have been decorated with natural colours and textures melding to replicate the serenity of the African bush indoors. Each suite has its own private plunge pool, framed by a spacious timber deck that overlooks the nearby lake, which serves as a popular drinking hole for a wealth of wildlife.
Facilities: Gym, library, swimming pool, boutique, spa, sunset deck. Shaded by old knobthorn trees, the spacious viewing areas are strewn with comfy daybeds and a rim-flow swimming pool in which to cool off during the heat of the day. Chitwa Chitwa’s cosy library offers a large selection of books – both for reference reading and relaxation as well as an internet access point. In addition, the lodge also has a gym and offers a spa where one can indulge in holistic wellness treatments.
Activities: Game drives, guided bush walks, excursions to local villages, children’s activities. The area is known to contain a wide variety of animals including lion, giraffe, buffalo, rhino, leopard, elephant, cheetah, wild dogs, antelope and hippo.

Our Opinion: Chitwa Chitwa is a delightful lodge offering superb accommodation in the heart of the bush. Great care has been taken to balance African safari style with complete comfort in each of the guest suites. You can be assured of superlative game viewing from the main lounge and dining areas as animals congregates at the water’s edge in the mornings and early evenings. Exhilarating 4×4 game drives and guided bush walks further afford the chance of seeing game at close quarters. The ‘Big Five’ of lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant are all resident as well as a huge number of other mammals such as hippo, cheetah, giraffe and kudu and over 500 recorded species of birds.
