Location: Located on the remote Kalahari plains of the Northern Cape Province, Tswalu is the largest singly owned private game reserve i n South Africa. Motse Lodge nestles at the foot of the Korannaberg Mountains and faces westwards across the grasslands of the Kalahari.
Rooms: The 9 individual desert sand wall & thatch legaes (suites) blend in beautifully with the surrounding terrain and each overlooks a large waterhole and boasts a spacious lounge, private sun deck, en suite bathroom and walk-in shower with extensive views across the plains. The Family Suite consists of two separate bedrooms with their own en suite bathroom facilities.
Facilities: Within the lodge there is also a lounge & dining area, library, traditional African boma, wine cellar and outdoor heated swimming pool & pool terrace.
Activities: Activities from the lodge include day and night game drives, bush walks, horse safaris and star gazing. You enjoy the company of a dedicated personal guide and tracker throughout your stay with your own private 4×4 safari vehicle. Big game includes both black and white rhino, buffalo, giraffe, lion and eland, whilst some unusual resident mammals include aardwolf, pangolin and African wildcat. More than 170 bird species have been recorded on the reserve. You can also enjoy a close up experience with a group of habituated meerkats.
Children: Children of all ages are welcome.
