Our Opinion: Rivertrees is a converted hunting lodge situated on the outskirts of Arusha. Simple but comfortable and very peaceful, this small lodge has an animal sanctuary attached and is the perfect place to relax for the night. The old farmhouse has a restaurant and bar with excellent cuisine with much home grown produce. The gardens abound with birdlife, making it a haven for bird watching enthusiasts, and offers breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. Beyond the gardens, grass lined pathways lead to the swimming pool and Usa River that flows through the property.
