Location: Situated on the edge of the Katisunga Plain in the very heart of Katavi National Park.
Rooms: 8 guest tents raised on wooden platforms, providing a private verandah at the entrance of each tent. They are comfortably furnished with twin or double beds, safari chairs, palm mats and en suite bathroom facilities.
Facilities: Central lounge & dining area, seating around an outdoor fire in the evenings.
Activities: Guided 4×4 game drives, bird watching.
Children: Children of all ages are welcome.
Our Opinion: Katavi Wildlife Camp is owned and run by the Fox family, veterans of safaris in remote Tanzania and owners of safari camps across the country. The camp is located in one of the best game areas at Ikuu, near the banks of the Katuma River, which is especially rich in big game during the dry season and boasts spectacular views across the Katasunga floodplain from all the tented rooms and main camp area. In the dry season there are large daily movements of animals between the floodplains and the river, resulting in regular dramatic game sightings close to camp.
