Location: The only lodge on the west coast of Mafia Island, nearby the main town of Kilindoni.
Rooms: 13 quite rustic but comfortably furnished ocean facing bungalows with private verandahs & hammocks.
Facilities: Restaurant, bar, swimming pool.
Activities: Diving, snorkelling, kayaking, sandbank picnics, whale and whale shark watching, island excursions.
Children: Children aged 10 or older are welcome.
Our Opinion: Butiama is a simple but charming boutique lodge on Mafia Island’s west coast, set in an idyllic location amongst coconut palms right on the beach. Long walks can be enjoyed on the long stretch of white sandy beach and there is a wonderful atmosphere of tranquility.
