Location: Batang Ai Reservoir is approximately 4 hrs drive from Kuching. Longhouses are a traditional form of tribal housing which is more of a covered village than one house. Each family has its own section of the longhouse, often comprising of several rooms,including a kitchen. There is always a large communal area where the various inhabitants will eat and socialise together on a daily basis
Rooms: This is a basic homestay. Guests will sleep in the communal area and will be provided with a mattress, blanket and mosquito net. There will also be basic shower facilities and a toilet
Children: Children of all ages are welcome although more suitable for older children
Our Opinion: Home stays are a fantastic way to experience the culture of the local people. Although very basic, all meals will be provided along with everything you need for the night. Your local guide will also stay on site with you
