Location: In the 3,000 hectare Ibitipoca Reserve, Minas Gerais.

Rooms: 14 suites.

Facilities: Restaurant, bar, jacuzzi, swimming pool, spa, sauna, fitness centre.

Activities: Hiking, mountain biking, visiting local villages and fazenda plantations.

Children: Children are welcome.

Our Opinion: Reserva Do Ibitipoca features 5 separate houses: Main House Fazenda do Engenho – provides 8 suites and serves regional cuisine by the on-site restaurant, Engenho’s Farm – traditional farmhouse founded in 1715, Carlinhos – offers rooms with authentic mineiro art and stunning views, located only 100m from the main house, Paiol – large house with only 1 suite located near the lake and The Mountain Houses Benjamin and Zico – situated on the mountain 2km away from the main house, accessible only by 4×4 vehicles and available only on special occasions.

Highlights included white water rafting, zip wires, releasing new-born turtles into the sea, being in a boat amongst 200 dolphins, riding on beaches...
