Location: 1 hour from Flores airport and 1 hour from Tikal National Park, in the rainforest, overlooking Lake Peten-Itza.

Rooms: 10 rooms.

Facilities: Restaurant, bar, pool.

Activities: Bird watching, canoeing, horseback riding, swimming, excursions on Lake Peten-Itza and to Tikal and Yaxha.

Children: Children are welcome.

Our Opinion: A wonderful option in a great location. Please note this hotel currently only has air conditioning in 2 of their rooms and there are a lot of stairs to get between the entrance, the restaurant and the rooms.

"Many thanks indeed. Fab holiday! Everything went incredibly smoothly, and all the staff/drivers etc charming and all our connections etc went smoothly. Highlights included white water rafting, zip wires, releasing new-born turtles into the sea, being in a boat amongst 200 dolphins, riding on beaches... Children and parents ticked off many from our “must do things in our lives” list. In terms of lodges, would rank Pacuare and Lapa Rios equal first.
