Location: Surrounded by the Colca Canyon, 3 hours from Arequipa.

Rooms: 20 individual Casitas.

Facilities: Restaurant, bar. swimming pool, spa, hot tub, massage, fitness centre, sauna.

Activities: Horse riding, cycling, BBQ facilities, library, darts, kid’s playground, fishing.

Children: Children are welcome.

Our Opinion: Nestled in the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world. Las Casitas offers a wide range of wonderful outdoor excursions. It also has it own farm, vegetable garden and trout pond which guests are welcome to visit. Each individual Casita has a private terrace and heated pool, ideal place for relaxing after a day exploring the Colca Canyon.

Highlights included white water rafting, zip wires, releasing new-born turtles into the sea, being in a boat amongst 200 dolphins, riding on beaches... Children and parents ticked off many from our “must do things in our lives” list. In terms of lodges, would rank Pacuare and Lapa Rios equal first.
