Location: Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge has a beautiful position on Nketo Ridge in the southern part of Bwindi National Park and has the distinction of being, at over 2000m above sea level, the highest lodge in Uganda.
Rooms: 8 en suite cottages, two of which are suitable for families or small groups. The cottages are beautifully positioned looking out over the forested slopes. Built of local volcanic stone, every cottage has a large sitting room with fireplace ensuring rooms are kept warm and cosy in the cool evenings.
Facilities: The main lodge consists of a reception, lounge, dining area and balcony. Modern, but with a country house feel to it, the shared areas are both spacious and stylish.
Activities: Gorilla tracking, forest walks, bird watching, community tours and Batwa experience trips, private dinners, massage.
Children: Children of all ages are welcome but only 15 or older can track gorillas.
Our Opinion: Surrounded by miles upon miles of Afro-montane forest, the views are incredible. This is one of Bwindi’s premier lodges and a superb base for gorilla trekking.
