Location: San Camp is the sister camp to Jack’s Camp and has recently been completely rebuilt. The camp is set around a grove of fan palms, within grassland on the edge of the spectacular Ntwetwe Pan, overlooking Makgadikgadi Pans National Park.
Rooms: 6 classic white tents stand majestically on the shore of an enormous sparkling salt pan, each sheltered by a cluster of stately desert palms. Pared down safari elegance with minimal ecological impact is combined with spectacular vistas.
Facilities: Mess tent with natural history museum, library, tea tent, lounge area, tented yoga pavilion.
Activities: Nature drives and walks, night drives, and visits to sites of archaeological interest including Chapman’s Baobab, 4WD quad bikes.
Children: Children of all ages are welcome.
Our Opinion: San Camp is situated on the edge of the vast and mysterious Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, an exclusive, stylish, out of the way camp in a remarkable part of Africa. Expert guiding, friendly habituated meerkats, unique desert species, old-world safari styling and superb cuisine all come together to create an unique safari experience.
