Moremi Game Reserve

Within the Okavango Delta region lies the Moremi Game Reserve, a richly diverse wildlife sanctuary which is deservedly rated as one of Africa’s finest and most exciting safari destinations.

Why visit Moremi Game Reserve ?

  • Superb diversity of animal & birdlife in a beautiful area
  • One of the best reserves for seeing the endangered wild dog
  • Exciting boat safaris on permanent Delta waterways
  • Endangered wild rhinos on Chief’s Island

The Moremi Reserve covers some 3,000 sq. km and is home to a vast diversity of natural habitats, which in turn play host to a wide variety of wildlife including abundant herds of elephant, lechwe, wildebeest and impala. There are also large numbers of giraffe, tsessebe, waterbuck, as well as the predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and the endangered wild dog (or painted wolf).

The rich mosaic of different ecosystems in the Moremi can be explored by 4×4 vehicle and boat: the patchwork of lagoons, shallow flooded pans, plains and forests all make this one of the most beautiful areas of Botswana. The birding is also spectacular here, especially during the spring and summer months when the migrant flocks come here to breed.
