Location: In a vast and unspoilt wilderness area between the Ugab and the Huab Rivers in southern Damaraland.
Rooms: 15 luxury tents, all with en suite bathroom facilities, decorated in African themes and boasting a wooden deck offering uninterrupted views of the Damaraland landscapes.
Facilities: The dome-like thatched structures accommodate a dining and sitting room and blend in perfectly with the surrounding boulders. There is a swimming pool where you can cool off in the heat of the day.
Activities: Game drives, visits to Twyfelfontein, elephant and dune drives, nature walks in the areas surrounding the camp.
Children: Children of all ages are welcome.
Our Opinion: This region boasts magnificent desert scenery, unusual geological formations, archaeological sites and a unique variety of desert fauna and flora. It is also the southernmost roaming ground for the rare black rhino and the desert elephant. Mowani is taken from the word M’wane meaning “Place of God” and it is here that you will find the true meaning of the words peace and tranquillity.
