Our opinion: The Plancius was built in 1976 as an oceanographic research vessel for the Royal Dutch Navy and served until 2004, after which she has been rebuilt completely to become a spacious and comfortable expedition ship. This vessel is an excellent option for active and adventurous explorers that want to experience Antarctica. Plancius offers basecamp expeditions that allow you to spend more time ashore and participate in a wide range of included activities. She is also one of the few cruise ships that provides polar diving.
