Our opinion: Suitable for those seeking a real escape on an extremely remote island; this is where barefoot luxury means Bohemian chic. Wa Ale Island is open from 1st October to 31 May. Intended to leave a minimal green foot print, the resort was constructed using local raw materials and 50% of the energy is from solar. Rooms are fan cooled. The beach house is an exclusive retreat accommodating 4 people set on a private neighbouring beach with its own chef. Due it the isolated location, a certain amount of self-contentment is required; there isn’t a reliable telephone network at Wa Ale (apart from Satellite phone/ internet calls) and network connection is accessible only by Wi-Fi on Viber and WhatsApp
