Location: Rio Perdido is in Guanacaste, 60 minutes southeast of Liberia’s international airport, near the base of the Miravalles Volcano.

Rooms: 20 bungalows are distributed into 3 segments.

Facilities: Restaurant, bar, swimming pool, spa.

Activities: Canyon exploring, hiking, mountain biking, white water tubing.

Children: Children are welcome.

Our Opinion: The centerpiece of the 600-acre private reserve is the Rio Perdido, which means “lost river”. This 150-foot, thermo-mineral gorge that draws energy from deep magma flows, will cast its spell on anyone that descends to its magical waters for the first time. It’s a completely natural and inspiring setting, unlike any other place on the planet.

Highlights included white water rafting, zip wires, releasing new-born turtles into the sea, being in a boat amongst 200 dolphins, riding on beaches...
