Horse Riding Safaris

Botswana - Riding Safari - Dana Allen

Horse riding in Botswana is a superlative experience, offering the chance to enjoy the untramelled spaces of true wilderness areas and often in the company of big game. It is amazing to see how close the animals let one approach when on horseback, especially buffalo, giraffe, zebra and lechwe.

Riding is possible as an activity whilst on safari in the Selinda Reserve at Raw Botswana and also from Royal Tree Lodge just outside Maun.

Overnight horse riding  are also operated in the Makgadigadi Pans by Robyn & David Foot.

In addition there are camps dedicated to horse riding within the Okavango Delta (African Horseback Safaris & Okavango Horse Safaris) and Tuli Block (Limpopo Valley Horse Safaris) – please ask us for all the latest information about these trips.

Mobile Camping Safaris

Botswana - Chobe National Park - andBeyond Chobe Under Canvas - Tent

Luxurious lodges by their nature are very comfortable and extremely accommodating, but to experience a mobile camping safari in the Chobe,  Moremi or Kalahari regions and discover these areas in the same way as the great explorers of old is a truly fantastic adventure.

With spacious tents, hot showers, chilled wine and excellent cuisine, the essential modern comforts are uncompromised. A classic mobile safari not only allows the flexibility needed to keep in touch with the wildlife as it moves, but also allows you to revel in the privacy and isolation of wild Africa, far from the madding crowds. This is an African safari experience that truly touches the soul.

We can tailor an itinerary to suit your individual requirements, but there are also a number of set departures which you can join either as a group of friends, a couple or even as a single traveller. There are departures that take you into the heart of the Okavango Delta staying under canvas in one of the most spectacular wildlife regions in Africa. It is also possible to join luxury tented trips into the Kalahari, Chobe and Linyanti regions.

The dry winter season from April to November is generally considered the best time to visit. February to April is excellent in the Kalahari and Makgadikgadi Pans on account of the annual migration.
