Location: Just east of the historical town of Graaff-Reinet, in the heart of the malaria-free Eastern Cape’s Great Karoo.
Rooms: All accommodation is housed in historic and beautifully restored Cape Dutch houses in the Sneeuberg Valley, along the seasonal Melkbos Rive, with the majestic Sneeuberg Mountain range providing the perfect backdrop. Cambedoo Manor showcases traditional Dutch architecture and offers 4 beautifully appointed double bedroom suites, each with its own private patio. Courtyard Manor is a double gabled homestead, also with 4 suite, each with a wrap-around verandah. Hillside Manor is ideal for families or larger groups and boasts sweeping valley views, whilst secluded Peppertree Cottage is the perfect romantic spot for those seeking privacy. For an authentic safari experience there are 2 luxury safari tents raised on wooden decks. Each of the manors has a swimming pool.
Facilities: Restaurant, bar, swimming pool, spa. The cuisine is focused on early Cape settler recipes combined with light, contemporary flavours. Dinners are served in the boma under the stars, in a secluded courtyard or in front of the fire in the dining room.
Activities: Historic battlefield site tours, guided bush walks, game drives, cheetah tracking, star gazing, helicopter flights. The region is steeped in history and culture, and it is possible to explore the shops, museums and architecture of nearby Graaff-Reinet, or to take a day trip to Nieu Bethesda.

Our Opinion: Mount Camdeboo Private Game Reserve is a luxurious, privately owned sanctuary set against the stark plains and rugged mountains of the Karoo. The reserve is home to a wide variety of wildlife such as giraffe, buffalo, springbok, white rhino & Cape mountain zebra.
Off the reserve you can relive the experience of Graaff-Reinet under martial law and visit the monuments and museums including the Military History Museum, the Anglo Boer War Memorial, the historical jail, a historical firearms collection and the Graaff-Reinet Club which has a close association with the Coldstream Guards.
