Location: The location of the camp is unique…surrounded by volcanic peaks, in a grove of Acacia lahai trees draped in feathery mosses, the camp looks towards the sunrise over the Ngorongoro Crater, while the sun sets at the back of the camp over the Serengeti Plains.
Rooms: 6 tents including 2 family luxury tented rooms; all the tents have views into the crater and far-reaching Serengeti views can be enjoyed from the other side of the camp.
Facilities: Restaurant, bar, en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water.
Activities: Guided walks, safaris, visiting local communities, exploring the crater.
Children: Children over 8 are welcome.
Our opinion: Perched high on the Ngorongoro Crater rim, Entamanu Ngorongoro ( “circle” in Maa) is a recently opened luxury lodge. Although the structure of the lodge is completely removable, it has minimal impact on its pristine surrounding environment and does not compromise on comfort. In addition to game drives into the crater, the lodge is also ideally located for walks through the surrounding highlands, interactions with neighbouring Maasai communities and bush picnics.
