Location: On the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater in attractive acacia forest, with good access to the Lemala access route to the crater floor.
Rooms: 12 luxurious en suite tented guest rooms; each spacious tent is outfitted with a gas heater, beds with warm duvets, wooden flooring with rugs, 24 hour solar lighting and en suite bathroom with a dressing area, flush toilet and safari shower.
Facilities: The mess tent is beautifully furnished with comfy sofas, lamps, book cabinets in old wood, chests and rugs.
Activities: Game drives, guided forest walks.
Children: Children over the age of 6 are welcome.
Our Opinion: This is a traditional, East African style tented camp set in very attractive Acacia lahai woodland. The camp’s major advantage is the quick and easy access to the floor of the crater which maximizes game viewing time and avoids the traffic. Ol Moti and Empakaai craters are also easily accessible for optional walks with the Maasai. This charming camp faces a lovely forest filled with sounds of wildlife, birds and the bells of Masai cattle. Elephants and buffalo are frequent visitors too.
