Location: On the banks of the Jongomero Sand River, beneath the dappled shade of a grove of acacia trees, the only camp in the remote south-western sector of Ruaha National Park.
Rooms: 8 very spacious tented suites built on raised wooden platforms with thatched roofs and terraces, overlooking the sand river which is frequented by wildlife.
Facilities: Restaurant, bar, lounge, swimming pool. There is a large dining tent and bar where you will be served delicious food, whilst enjoying fabulous views of the surrounding bush. The camp’s swimming pool is the ideal place to cool down in the heat of the day.
Activities: Activities from the camp include game drives in customised open 4×4 vehicles and seasonal bush walks with your expert, armed guide.
Children: Children over 6 years old are welcome. The is also a limit of two children in camp at any one time.
Our Opinion: Jongomero Camp has established a well-earned reputation as one of the finest bush camps in southern Tanzania and has raised the standards of luxury accommodation in this remote wilderness. Set in a remote location, over 70 km from its nearest neighbour, the camp is ideally positioned for an exclusive safari experience in a rich game area.
