Also known as Mt Kyaiktiyo, this remarkable boulder crowned by a beautiful stupa is balanced on the edge of the mountain and appears to defy all gravity. Over the years it has been adorned with gold leaf by thousands of worshippers and it overlooks the surrounding area in all its glittering golden glory. It is approached by a road transfer and then takes around one hour to climb up the winding path to the rock.
This serene and magical monument is one of the country’s most revered sites and well worth a visit.
